I'm Frank and I'm originally from SoCal, born and raised. I retired here in 2009 but didn't discover hiking until 2012 when my cousin took me to Red Rock. I've been hooked ever since. I am a 53'er with the 52 Peak Club, where I met some of my closest hiking friends. I used to lead hikes for a local commercial tour operator. I am an avid photographer and love to travel!
We're not going to set any land speed records, but we won't be going at a snail's pace either. My hikes are more likely to be social events rather than fitness hikes. I like to experience and enjoy the scenery, and stop and smell the roses! There will definitely be photos! What we'll do will depend on my own personal fitness level at the moment. Right now, they will be somewhat slow, easier hikes. Later on, they will be moderate at best, with some scrambling. I don't know how many more "big" scrambles my knees can take, but we'll get started and see where it takes us. I used to hate the Charleston hikes, but now they are some of my favorites. I hope to plan some trips, as those have been some of my best experiences with the hiking groups.
